How to Relieve Menstrual Pain

How to Relieve Menstrual Pain

Very often, men complain that women are aggressive and nervous during menstruation. It’s hard not to agree with them, but this kind of behavior has its reason — the menstrual pain.

Almost every woman knows what menstrual pain is, but sometimes it hurts really severely.

Causes of Menstrual Pain

Severe menstrual pain can have several causes:

  • The woman/girl is overweight.
  • The period started when she was 11 or younger.

The following serious problems can also cause the pain:

  • High level of prostaglandins in the organism. Prostaglandins are produced in the uterus. Because of them, the uterine muscles start to contract, which are the major causes of menstrual pain.
  • Infections in the reproductive organs.
  • Use of contraceptive remedies.

Treatment

If the woman has serious health problems, she must visit a gynecologist, but I can suggest ways to relieve it if it is an ordinary menstrual pain.

First of all, you can take some anti-inflammatory pills.

If the pills don’t help, try the following:

  • Put a heating pad on the pelvic area.
  • Massage the abdomen regularly.
  • Eat food that contains vitamin B1, calcium, and zinc.
  • Drink juices that have red color (cherry, carrot, red-orange, strawberry). They help to stabilize the level of hemoglobin in your blood.
  • Do regular exercises, and walk a lot to normalize your blood circulation.
  • Sleep if you feel like it. The temperature of your body rises during sleep and helps you to reduce the pain.
  • Consider yoga exercises — there are some exercises aimed at reducing menstrual pain.

Note that those women who have delivered a baby experience less severe menstrual pain.

However, another crucial thing that women need during menstruation is more attention and care, which can be the best remedy against all pains.
